This time of year can be stressful and with that can come chaos on the roads and 3 Florida cities made the GasBuddy naughty list for aggressive holiday driving.
With the holidays rapidly approaching, it’s time to be prepared for the influx of holiday travelers. Every year, Florida sees an uptick in aggressive driving behavior and road rage incidents as tourists and locals alike flock to our state. I can't even tell you how many times I've had to lay on my horn lately due to people not paying attention. Or the other day when I had to yell because someone nearly backed right into me in the grocery store parking lot. So I guess, I have road rage too?
I feel like when I'm driving I'm relatively calm, but admittedly, sometimes other drivers can bring out the worst in me. Add in last-minute shopping, finishing up work before vacation and traveling, tensions can be high.
GasBuddy made their rankings based on aggressive driving habits like hard braking, speeding and rapid acceleration.
Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy said: "The holidays can bring out both the best and worst of us, trying to run around to get everything done and prepared before the holidays. Couple that with high prices and increased traffic, we see shorter fuses on the road." And aggressive driving uses up more gas, so by slowing down you can improve your gas mileage up to 25%.
