5 Special Wines For Fathers Day Celebrations And Gifts

tilted wine glass with red wine being poured into it for wine for Father's Day

It’s Father’s Day Week and if you’re like many Southwest Floridians, you are still trying to figure out how to celebrate, what to give, what to do for Father's Day. When in doubt, I almost always turn to wine for a bailout. Here are 5 special wines for Fathers Day celebrations and gifts.

Wine can be given solo, as a gift. It can be part of a bigger gift. For example you could get dad a new grilling kit and a good wine that goes with BBQ. Or perhaps a gift certificate to his favorite golf course and a wine with a sports theme or name on the label.

Rombauer Vineyards 2021 California Zinfandel is a great example of a gift to pair with grilling accessories. This is a rich wine with dark fruits and spices like clove. It's good with a variety of grilled meats and their seasonings. A wine for Fathers Day celebrations. Rombauer Vineyards

This is a time when buying by label can be fun. However, you can find wines with good labels and good wine inside. It never hurts to opt for quality and even collectability when buying wine as a gift for dad.

Or perhaps the best gift of all is when that bottle of wine is opened and shared with dad. There is nothing quite like sitting down raising a glass and sharing a moment.

Wines For Fathers Day

Wine brings people together. If you haven’t spent time with you dad or the father figure in your life in a while. This might be the best gift of all. The older we get; the more valuable time becomes. Especially if your father is still alive.

Cheers to all you dads and people who fill the rolls of dads, biological or not.

For Wine Wednesday, here are 5 special wines to salute dad for Father’s Day

Warson Rose Santa Ynez

This is not a subtle Provence-style rose. This one is a substantial wine with bold red berries. It’s made from grenache grown in California’s Santa Ynez Valley. This would be perfect to share with dad while enjoying conversation over cheese and charcuterie, with seafood or simply on its own. $22

Te Pa Oke Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Gina Birch

I saw this described somewhere as a sauvignon blanc for chardonnay lovers. I can see that. From New Zealand, It is not as acidic as some sauv blancs from the area. It is full bodied and complex with tropical fruit, citrus, nectarine, even a hint of spicy pepper. It’s a good one to spark conversation with dad. $25 range.

Chateau Mourgues Du Gres Galets Rouges

This one comes from southern France and it is on the rustic side, just like some dads. Chateau Mourgues Du Gres Galets Rouges Costieres de Nimes has lots of dark fruit and some cassis. It is also a little juicy and great with food.

Cliff Lede Rhythm Cabernet Sauvignon
