Former Miami Dolphins and New York Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum has struck again. In his infinite wisdom, he actually suggested trading Jaylen Waddle this offseason. Once you peel back the logic (however little of it there is) it makes sort of sense. I'm trying to to dismiss it entirely. But trading a 25 year-old with two remaining years on his rookie deal is just not smart business trading Jaylen Waddle makes no sense. The trade Tannenbaum proposed is Jaylen Waddle for Chiefs CB Trent McDuffie. Trading Jaylen Waddle makes no sense for the Dolphins. But trading away Trent McDuffie, who has three years remaining on his deal, is possibly the more bizarre part of the story. McDuffie is a Pro-Bowl corner who will only become more important if the Chiefs can not resign L'Jarius Sneed.

To the defense of the Dolphins fan base, and the Chiefs for that matter, twitter immediately shut it down. The overwhelming response from both fan bases wouldn't even entertain the idea. Tyreek Hill also weighed in on the situation from Greece.

I love that Tyreek came to the defense of his receiving corps comrade.

Tyreek Hill and the rest of the Miami Dolphins roster (offensively) feels like they are all on the same page. And looking at the last line of the final tweet "after I leave". That is an important line. Mike Tannenbaum when he suggests a trade like this is not thinking of the future. There is a clear line of succession in the receiver room. There will be a day when Jaylen Waddle will take the WR1 title from Tyreek Hill. Would the Miami Dolphins benefit from having a corner like Trent McDuffie? Absolutely. Does that mean the Dolphins should the move happen? Absolutely not. Once again Mike Tannenbaum has missed the mark.
