The dining scene in Southwest Florida got a new addition this week. The doors are officially open today and this week you could win free food for a year at Estero's new Oak and Stone. This is not the only location. You can find Oak & Stone restaurants in other nearby cities such as Naples, Sarasota, Venice, Bradenton, and St. Petersburg. Oak & Stone Estero is the 7th Florida location and it has all the bells and whistles that fans might expect.
About Oak & Stone Estero
The restaurant is American tavern in style. It is famous for many things, but especially the self-serve craft beer wall. It has some 50 rotating tap selections. The bar is indoor/outdoor. It also has an extensive list of craft cocktails. The kitchen cranks out artisanal pizzas and gourmet tavern fare such as slow roasted stone-oven wings, ahi tuna bowls and more. In addition, there are a number of plant based options on the menu.
This is the grand opening week. Oak & Stone is giving away food for an entire year to celebrate the occasion. Six guests will be selected to win. Keep in mind, some restrictions may apply. Good luck.

Backyard Social Opens In Fort Myers
A much anticipated, new entertainment destination has finally become a reality. Backyard Social opens in Fort Myers today and it is impressive. The space is on track to be one of the most Instagramable spots in Southwest Florida. It is covered in giant, colorful murals that are the creation of Ruben Ubiera. Ubiera is an artist known for his work on the famous Wynwood Walls in Miami.
Backyard Social is a huge space with a little something for everyone, dining, music, gaming and more. It's the brainchild of local entrepreneurs John Mann and Mat Baum. I'll share more of their story later. We met at the soft opening last night for media, friends and family and there was lots of excitement about this new spot off of Treeline, just north of Alico.
Backyard Social Fort Myers
The space covers some 9,000 acres. It is an open-air building with high ceilings and powerful fans. The centerpiece is a huge bar with ten televisions. I was given a cocktail to try during the festivities. I bought another one and can't wait to go back for more. Buffalo Trace is the house bourbon and I'm told serve a mean Old Fashion.
The perimeter is lined with eight food trucks, each containing something unique and different. Addison’s on the Go specializes in chicken while The Great Foodini’s is all about seafood. You will also find Arepa Express with Venezuelan cuisine, No Manches! tacos, and Bao and Flautas with Mexican fare. In addition, Gigi’s Gourmet specializes in burgers, get your Greek on with Gyros2Go, BBQ at Beau’s, and mac-n-cheese at Easy Cheesy.
Finally, after 9pm it's 21 and up. There are some high-tech games from steel-tip darts to duckpin bowling and more. Outside you'll find firepits, umbrella seating and some old faithful yard games to keep you entertained. VIP seating and reservations are accepted. It's a great place to throw a party or meet new people.
