Fire McDermott Trending

Stop me if you've heard this before... the Bills lost in overtime. In fact the Buffalo Bills are 0-6 in overtime games since Josh Allen took over. But if you watched the Eagles game, Josh Allen is not the problem with the Bills. Buffalo fans think it's head coach Sean McDermott. And after the game "Fire McDermott" trending on twitter should tell you all you need to know. The Bills are a disappointment this season. I am not in the business of giving all the blame to one person in a football game. I think of blame like pie. You don't sit down and eat an entire pie. You gut it up into slices. Josh Allen deserves a little bit of blame pie, but Sean McDermott deserves a couple of slices. And "Fire McDermott" trending on twitter doesn't bode will for McDermott beyond 2023.

Sean McDermott is a good coach. There does come a time where a nucleolus of a team reaches it's peak and it's time to re-tool. It feels like the Buffalo Bills in this current version has peaked and now it's time to re-tool on the fly. That starts with the coaching staff. Coming into the season the Bills felt like they had a lot of pressure on them. In the AFC quarterback hierarchy Josh Allen is only measured against Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow. both guys have at least gotten to a Super Bowl. Josh Allen is still elite, but the resume does not match the talent right now. There needs to be changes in Buffalo and Sean McDermott seems to be the easiest target right now.
