Florida Man Arrested After He Tries To Cross The Atlantic in Giant Hamster Wheel

Florida Man Tries to cross Atlantic in his homemade vessle.
When you hear the phrase "Florida Man," you know you're in for a wild tale. This time, it's about a Florida Man who set out on an insane adventure. Imagine attempting to cross the vast Atlantic Ocean, not in a ship or plane, but inside a giant hamster wheel!
According to Fox 35, it all started when the U.S. Coast Guard, off the coast of Georgia, stumbled upon a real-life hamster ball. Only, it was not a hamster inside; it was our Florida man Reza Baluchi. This guy was trying to "run" to London. Yup, London. Someone didn't get the memo that planes exist.
Now, Reza's not your typical "calm under pressure" kind of guy. When the Coast Guard tried to bring him back to reality, he basically planted his feet inside his aquatic wheel and refused to leave for a whopping three days. Now that's commitment right there.
But the Coast Guard had to play the buzzkill card and declared his voyage "unsafe." Reza's response? Threaten to go all action-movie villains on them with a 12-inch knife and claim he had a bomb. Really?! A Bomb?! Spoiler alert: No actual explosives were involved. Insane? Yes. Overaction? Definitely.
Here's the thing, this isn't Reza's first rodeo in the hamster wheel. He's been caught at least three times before, like a cat who can't resist a cardboard box. Two years ago, he tried the Florida-to-New-York route, but he only got about 25 miles in before making an unscheduled beach landing. He's like that friend who keeps insisting they'll finish their diet, but you catch them sneaking cookies at midnight. What can I say? I can't resist a good chocolate chip!
Anyway, Reza Baluchi may be a man of many mysteries, but one thing's for sure... He's a determined idiot with a "never give up" attitude. Maybe next time, he'll invest in a globe and a plane ticket, but until then, we'll just keep our eyes on the headlines for his next stupid adventure in his aquatic hamster wheel.

Wild Videos For Southwest Florida Boaters

Labor Day Weekend is traditionally big for boaters. However, in Southwest Florida, almost every weekend is good for boating. Small spaces, wide open water, boaters often have to be creative when it comes to making sure passengers are comfortable. Boating is not a one size fits all kind of activity. In addition, it is not always glamorous. However, it is almost always fun. Here are some wild videos for Southwest Florida boaters for TikTok Tuesday.

Boating is a popular past time in Southwest Florida. Even after Hurricane Ian damaged so many vessels and changed the waterways. Boaters can't get enough of the local waters.

I don't have a boat but am fortunate to have friends that do. I'm always amazed at the tricks and hacks they come up with to accommodate  passengers. Some of them are here. There is also a funny video that all boat owners understand regardless of how many vessels you have owned over the years. The videos also show a couple of really cool accessories and super cool upgraded for those who like to get in the water, not just on in.

Over the weekend, thousands of beach and boating photos and videos crossed my social media feed. I pulled five of the most interesting ones involving boats and boating to share here. You do not need a TikTok account to watch these videos. We'll use mine. All you have to do is scroll down and then hit play. They are all office friendly and also kid friendly. If you have a boat or have been a passenger on one, you will relate.

Here they are. Wild Videos For Southwest Florida Boaters for TikTok Tuesday.

Humor For Boat Owners

The idea of owning a boat is dreamy for many. It looks like so much fun, and it is. However, it's not always glamorous as this video shows. Can you relate?

Have You Seen This Great Boating Accessory?

Meeting up with friends on the water is always fun. But trying to tie-up to them can be a nightmare. This little accessory looks easy and when not inflated does not take up valuable space onboard.

The coolest boat pool ever

If I could have an over the top, yet functional feature on my boat/yacht, this would be high up on the list. Especially if you have passengers who want to go into the water but are afraid of sharks. How cool is this pool.

Great Hack For Getting Caught In The Rain

This is what I mean about the creativity of boat people. I know, you're on a boat and bound to get wet. But sometimes that rain comes down with a vengeance and it hurts when it hits your skin. If you are claustrophobic, this might not work. However....

How Fast Can Your Boat Go?

This one is going so fast, it gives new meaning to the word flying. It really is flying across the water. Incredible video.
