It's been super hot in Southwest Florida. And with that Saharan Dust thing, sometimes you just want to stay inside and watch tv. And when it comes to streaming platforms, there are a lot of apps to choose from. Thanks to Google search, we know which apps that people really want, but don't want to pay for. Streaming app free trials. That's a strange category, I know, but I'll get to that.
I consider myself an app locust. You see, I don't get any live tv, but at night before bed I do enjoy watching a show. The problem with most apps is that there's only so much on there that you care to watch. There's where my term comes in. I swoop in on an app, consume everything, then cancel it. And then move on.
It's even better when it's free trials. I currently get MGM+, MAX, and Paramount + for free. For my streaming I use Xfinity internet and NOW TV. They gave me 30 days of MGM+ plus they just gave me MAX for free for a week. I had done a trial of Paramount+ once before, and last week I got an email offering me 30 days more of free Paramount+ with Showtime. The key thing is a schedule. You need to know when to cancel so you don't get charged. And as learned, sometimes they'll give you another free trial.
But what streaming app free trials are people looking up the most?
CSGOLuck, who conducted the study, looked at 50 popular streaming services followed by the term 'free trial' to uncover which are searched for the most. They also looked at which five streaming platform free trials are most searched for in each state.
Max took first place with 193,811 Google searches per month across America for “hbomax free trial.” The streaming platform, which recently rebranded following the merging of HBO Max and Discovery+, was the most in-demand free trial in 41 states, including Florida, New York, California, Texas, and Colorado. It also appeared in the top five most searched for terms across all 50 states. Max doesn't have a free trial but if you have Amazon Prime you can get it for $7.99/month for 2 months. I'm getting it free this week through my Xfinity.
Hulu came in a close second with 161,313 Google searches on average each month for the term “hulu free trial.” The streaming platform was the most sought-after streaming free trial in nine states, including Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Hampshire. It also appeared in every state's top five most searched for terms. Hulu will give you 30 days for free.
YouTube TV took the third spot with 132,001 monthly searches for the term “youtube tv free trial.” It was also in the top five most googled searches for free trial across all 50 states. YouTube TV currently offers a 14-day free trial.
Peacock took fourth place with 125,883 searches each month for the term “peacock free trial.” The streaming platform, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, is also in the top five searched for terms across every state nationwide. There's no free trial, I get mine free with my service.
Netflix came in fifth place
There were 85,206 monthly searches for “netflix free trial.” To put that into perspective, that’s roughly 2,840 searches per day. Netflix, originally named ‘Kibble,’ appeared in the top five most searched-for free trials in 39 states, including Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio. No free trial on Netflix.
Sixth place went to Disney+, with Americans searching for “disney plus free trial” 60,844 times per month. No free trial.
Starz placed seventh, with 60,132 monthly searches dedicated to “starz free trial” across America each month. No free trial, but when you do the Hulu free trial, you also get Starz free for 7 days.
In eighth place is ESPN+, with 37,425 searches for the term “espn plus free trial” each month. ESPN+ was among the top five most searched for free trials in seven states, including Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas. ESPN+ does not offer a free trial currently. You'll get free espn when you do your trial of YouTube tv or Fubo.
FuboTV, with 41,518 searches for “fubotv free trial,” ranked ninth, while Paramount+, with 35,954 searches for “paramount plus free trial,” ranked tenth. FuboTV offers a 7-day free trial, while Paramount+ provides a 30-day free trial.
So people in Florida want the Max app but don't want to pay for it. No surprise, it is one of the more expensive ones.
This method will not work for everyone. If you have to see the latest new shows, you'll need to pay for them. But if you can wait, shows like "Last Of Us" and "Succession" will eventually come to you for free.
The Florida Lottery Scratch Off Tickets With All The Grand Prizes Gone
It's summertime in Southwest Florida, and it'd certainly be nice to catch a big win before hurricane season. Everyone talks 'hurricane prep' this time of year, but you know what's needed? Money to buy all the hurricane prep. Everything costs more than it did last year. Well, most everything. Florida Lottery scratch off tickets are still priced the same. But some of these tickets are no bargain. Did you know that some of the tickets behind the counter have no chance of hitting big?
The Florida Lottery keeps very close tabs on their scratch off tickets. Way more than we could ever hope to do. But one thing they do for us, is publish their information. But it is a lot of information, so I'll break it down for you.
When you go the counter or the machine in Fort Myers, Naples, or wherever, you really have no idea what you're doing. You pick one that you think "feels lucky" and then give them your money. A $5 ticket where you could win $500,000? Sounds nice - but it's not going to happen if you get the wrong ticket. It'd really be nice if this information was posted when you go to buy tickets, but if they did that no one would buy the tickets where you couldn't win big. So I'll do it for you.
Here's the list of Florida Lottery scratch off tickets with all the Grand Prizes gone
Some of these still have some bigger prizes available, but all the big prize winners are gone. We'll also touch on some of the newer games that have all their big top prizes left. So let's get started. This list is current as of July 4th, 2023.
DOUBLE YOUR MONEY
It's a $5 ticket that came out in February of 2022. This game ends next month and all of the $500,000 and all the $10,000 prizes are gone. Best you could do on this one is a $1,000 winner.
$50,000 DIAMOND MINE
A $2 ticket, but all of the $50,000 winners are gone. Like the last one, this ticket also ends on August 4th. There's some $2,000 winners left, but all 12 of the $50,000 winners have been claimed.
$2 MONOPOLY DOUBLER
There were 8 of the $100,000 winning cards but they've all been claimed. Best you could do on this card is $2,500.
BILLION DOLLAR GOLD RUSH SUPREME
How much would it hurt dropping $30 on a card when you have no chance of hitting the $15 million dollar jackpot? That's because 4 people already did just that and now they're gone. Of the 24 $1 million dollar prizes, 2 of those are left. Heck, only 2 of the $100,000 tickets are still out there.
50X THE CASH
It's a $5 card with the chance to win a million. But you won't. All the million dollar cards are gone. You could still pick up $10,000 or one of the other prizes, but if you have dreams of buying a boat you may wanna pass on this one.
$5,000,000 CASHWORD
Nope. All the $5 million dollar prizes are gone. 3 of the $1 million dollar prizes are yet to be claimed. So if you like the crossword tickets, this one still has some winners left.
What about the reverse?
Tickets that have ALL of their big winners left. That's what I want. The Florida Lottery dropped some new games yesterday, so those all have the big winners left. Plus there's another one that came out back in February that still hasn't hit. We'll cover that one, too.
$250K A YR FOR LIFE
This one just came out on July 3rd. It's a $10 ticket and 4 people can win that grand prize. Do you still keep going to your job if you win this? Probably not.
$150K A YR FOR LIFE
The $5 version of this series that just came out. I could get by on $150K a year. It looks like a few of the $500 prizes have been claimed but the rest are out there.
$50K A YR FOR LIFE
And now the $2 version of the series. Like the others, this card just came out on July 3rd. All 8 of the grand prizes are available.
$25K A YR FOR LIFE
The dollar ticket version. You're not going to retire on this money, but it'd certainly make a difference. There's 4 top winners.
MONOPOLY™ SECRET VAULT
This is an odd $3 ticket that came out back in May. It still has most of the big winners left. 8/8 $100,000 winners, 12/16 $25,000 winners, and 22/24 $10,000 winners all yet to be claimed.
$1M YR/LIFE SPEC
One million dollars a year for life. We've talked about this one before as it came out in February. It's a $50 ticket with a massive grand prize. There's 2 of those tickets and both are still out there. There's 234 of the one million dollar prizes and only 43 of those have been claimed.
What else?
The 500X the cash has certainly made a lot of headlines around here. It's a $50 ticket that came out in February of 2022. It advertises 2 - $25 million dollar prizes. George Demetriades of Bonita Springs got one of the $25 million dollar cards back in May of 2022, but the other one is still out there. Someone in Naples won a million off this card about 6 weeks ago. There's still 13 one million dollar winners left.
That should get you started.
These stats are all current as of 7/4/2023. If you don't see your favorite ticket, here's the link to look it up. Hope this helps. Good luck to all. I usually send out an email when I make a new list, if you want that, sign up below.
