Tom Brady connected to the Miami Dolphins in rumored return says one NFL insider.
Let me say for the record that I am very skeptical of these “alleged” rumors that surfaced at last week’s NFL Scouting Combine. These reported by Rich Eisen on Monday.
We approached this topic during the latter half of the Shemon and Sheppard Show on Monday when we first heard about it. The story has since gained a lot of interest.
What did Rich Eisen Say?
Rich Eisen during his show on Monday discussed his “Top 5” rumors he had heard during his time in Indianapolis last week. His last one was a doozy.
Eisen said he heard there was a potential for Tom Brady, for the second time, would come out of retirement. But it didn’t end there.

You might remember that the Dolphins were penalized big time by the NFL for tampering with Brady while he was still playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2021 season.
And still more Tom Brady return rumors.
Last Tuesday at the Scouting Combine, Raiders coach Josh McDaniels told PFT Live that he believes quarterback Tom Brady is done. But not everyone who was in Indianapolis agrees.
Tom Brady has indeed made comments in the past about retiring from football when he no longer feels that he is performing at a high level.
And Finally.
In an interview with Jim Gray on the Let’s Go! podcast, Brady reiterated this sentiment. He’s saying that he believed it when he made the statement and that he still stands by it.
However, it’s worth noting that athletes’ plans can change over time. It’s always possible that Brady may reconsider his retirement plans in the future.
Ultimately, only time will tell what the future holds for Tom Brady and his football career.
I will be absolutely stunned however if Brady unretires again. However if the rumors are true, and Brady does end up in Miami, let the fun begin!

These are just a few of the 24 free agents the Buccaneers need to replace. Tom Brady could be included on this list, but since he is retired, I chose to leave him off. There aren’t a ton of top-tier players on this list. However, depth is often underrated this time of the year, but we all know the importance of it come December.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently $55.594 million over the cap. GM Jason Licht has a tall task in front of him to get the team under the cap while bringing in new talent. The Buccaneers might be better served taking it on the chin this year and reset the cap moving beyond 2023.

– LinebackerRight now Kyle Trask is the only quarterback under contract for 2023. Bucs fans want him to pan out, but I don’t see it happening. Trask hasn’t been able to beat out Gabbert for the backup spot. There have been reports that he has had a tough time learning the playbook. That was with the same offense in his first 2 seasons. There is a new OC coming in this year with a new playbook. The Bucs need to figure this spot out. The secondary is being decimated. Starters Jamel Dean, Mike Edwards, and Logan Ryan are all free agents. Some for backups Sean Murphy-Bunting and Keanu Neal.

The Bucs are in a tough spot this offseason. There is a bunch of talent still on the roster, but essentially zero depth. The nine draft picks will help with depth and youth. Being $55 million over the cap will make it difficult to revamp the roster on the fly. My thought is the Bucs should eat all of the cap money this year and retool for 2024. Sure they could restructure contracts, which they’ll have to do regardless, but I don’t see this team competing with the huge question marks at quarterback. Jason Licht has his work cut out for him this offseason.
