An Historic Day in Baseball Happened on Sunday In Highland Heights, Kentucky
An Historic Day in Baseball Happened on Sunday In Highland Heights, Kentucky. You are not going to believe this!
Liam McFadden-Ackman. Remember that name everyone. The Northern Kentucky University infielder hit two, yes two grand slams in the first inning of their series finale with Western Michigan on Sunday! The Norse won the game over the Bronco’s 27-4.
McFadden-Ackman drove in eight of the Norse’s 14 runs in the first inning!
Liam McFadden-Ackman hit 2 grand slams in the first inning of this game and if that wasn’t impressive enough he just completed the cycle as well. He may go for the no hitter next idk @LMack85 pic.twitter.com/BxImp87Uyk

It Hasn’t Always Come This Easy
Liam McFadden-Ackman may had been struggling a bit early on this season. He had a slash line of .176/.360/.398 through the first six games. He finished is sophomore year in 2022 with a slash line of .300/.386/.424 with five home runs and 27 RBI.
Liam McFadden-Ackman had a strong reputation as a high school prospect. Being ranked as the 13th ranked second baseman in Ohio by Perfect Game. Graduating from Mason High School, which has a strong baseball program, likely helped McFadden-Ackman develop his skills and prepare him for college baseball.
McFadeen-Ackman Wasn’t Done On Sunday In Highland Heights!
Not only did McFadeen-Ackman hit two grand slams in the first inning, he also hit for the “cycle” in the same game. And get this, he did THAT in 6 innings! Are you freaking kidding me? You hit two grand slams in one inning and then hit for “cycle” in 6? That is one of the sickest stats in baseball I have ever seen in my lifetime.
One Pitch At A Time
Liam McFadden-Ackman was able to maintain his focus and not let the pressure of the moment get to him during his first grand slam. It’s a good approach to take, especially in high-pressure situations, to focus on winning each pitch as it comes and not get too caught up in the bigger picture.
It’s understandable that McFadden-Ackman may have been overwhelmed by the excitement of hitting his second grand slam in the same game.
“I kind of blacked out there if I’m being honest with you,” McFadden-Ackman said. “But it was great to come back to the dugout and celebrate with my guys.”
I don’t care what kind of baseball fan you are or who you follow. Two grand slams in one inning plus hitting for the cycle in just 6 innings has got to be one of the greatest baseball performances of any kind in the history of the game.
More on this and lots more coming up later today on Shemon and Sheppard 2-6pm.
