Big news today as Serengeti Flyer at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay gets an opening date!
Back in October, Busch Gardens announced a new ride, Serengeti Flyer, coming in 2023 and now we know when we can ride it for the first time.
Busch Gardens is already home to Iron Gwazi, North America’s tallest and world’s fastest & steepest hybrid coaster. Serengeti Flyer will be the world’s tallest and fastest ride of it’s kind. The ride will be a screamin’ swing that will feature twin dueling arms that reach speeds of 68mph and a maximum height of 135 feet. Starting on February 27th, this ride will be open to the public. Pass members will be among the first to experience exclusive ride time on February 24th.
Neal Thurman, Park President of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, said in a press release: “Serengeti Flyer’s thrilling ride experience is bound to provide riders with a pulse-pounding encounter that can only be found at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. We believe that Serengeti Flyer will be the perfect high-thrill addition to our world-class portfolio of attractions including Iron Gwazi, the Golden Ticket Award Winner for the Best New Roller Coaster in 2022.”
If you go opening weekend to enjoy this ride, you'll also be able to celebrate Mardi Gras! The celebration is on through March 5th.
2023 Busch Gardens Concert Lineup
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is known for having top notch entertainment and they've announced their 2023 concert lineup.
What's very cool about these concerts is that they're included for annual pass members and individual day ticket holders. There are also upgrades and better seating available for purchase.
Busch Gardens announced earlier this week an amazing BOGO deal that's going on through January 15th. If you plan to visit the park at least twice in 2023, it's totally worth it. You basically pay for a day and then a Fun Card for both Busch Gardens and Adventure Island water park.
Busch Gardens has special events year-round. Mardi Gras kicks off on January 14th. In March, it's the Food & Wine Festival. Summer Nights kicks off in May. Bier Fest starts the end of July. Howl-O-Scream will keep you scared during the month of October. And the year ends with Christmas Town. Not all musical performances for the year have been announced, so there are more to come, but this lineup is pretty amazing so far.
Also, throughout January and February, Busch Gardens will have their “Real Music Series” with cover bands for Queen, Billy Joel, Elton John, Foreigner, Journey, Elvis, Abba and Prince.
