Fans are getting a look into how the MLB will handle ballpark procedures for the eventual start of the 2020 season.
In a 67-page release sent to the Associated Press on Friday, several safeguards are being put into place to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
Players and coaches must wear masks in the clubhouse and in the dugout, high-fives, fist bumps, hugging and spitting would be prohibited, and socializing with opponents before and during games has been put on hold.
In an email to league executives, deputy commissioner Dan Halem wrote, "We emphasize that this is a first draft, and will undergo several rounds of changes as we collect comments and suggestions from the clubs, the players' association, players, and government officials."
