How You Can Volunteer for the Boys and Girls’ Club of America
If you're looking for a way to give back to your community, why not volunteer for your local Boys and Girls Club? For more than a century, the organization has been providing young boys and girls with the help they need to achieve the brightest future possible.
Actors Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg and Courtney B. Vance are all alumnae of the organization, as are athletes like Shaquille O'Neal, Shaun White and wrestler Hulk Hogan.
If you'd like to donate your time, there are a variety of ways to help kids ranging in age from six to teens under 18. From sports to education to the arts to health and wellness, there are a multitude of programs that need mentors to help kids along.
To learn about the variety of programs and volunteers, check out their website by clicking here.
In today's busy society, you may not have the time to volunteer, but that doesn't mean you don't have a chance to help. If you'd like to donate, you can select one of a variety of ways, including monthly donations, a one-time gift or even the creation of your own fundraiser. You can learn more about that by clicking here.
Finally, you can also always enroll yourself or your children in a local club. As the organization notes, "teens who stay connected to a Club as they get older seem better able to resist engaging in high-risk behaviors, such as drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana, than their peers nationally."
