I'm not making this up as a sneaky way to indulge. There really is a day on the calendar set aside to honor this nostalgic sweet treat. National Chocolate Chip Day is May 15th.

And for the record, I'm not dissing the cookie. It has its own day after all. August 4th is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. It's hard to beat the classic Toll House Cookies recipe especially straight out of the oven.
