If you're a fan of craft beer and like me, are always looking for something new, here's a list of the 10 best breweries in Florida.
Of course beer is something that's all about personal taste. For instance, you may like a good, hoppy IPA, while I prefer a refreshing wheat with fruit or a dark beer (but not if they're higher than 6%). So for something that's really different for everyone, you may be looking for a place that has it all and Thrillist has put together this list of what they think are the best. My personal favorite is Mad Beach Brewing in Madeira Beach.
It's crazy to think how the craft beer scene has just exploded over the last 10 years. Within a 30 minute drive from where I grew up, just 5 years ago there was only 1 brewery and now there's at least 10, if not more. And here in Florida, it's been the same way. But now, you don't have to look too far. In Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Naples, there's so many that there's even a SWFL Ale Trail to encourage you to try them all. St Pete/Clearwater has their Gulp Coast Trail with about three dozen breweries. And if you go to Miami, there's four you can walk between in Wynwood alone.
I can imagine it was hard to narrow it down to just 10, as I have a favorite (or two) in every city. This list covers the whole state of Florida, so whether you've been there before and can agree that it deserves a spot in the top 10, or are looking to try something new, these are the best of the best.
