shemon sheppard

It’s that time of the week again.  Shemon and Sheppard Wednesday Wisdom Fun Facts for 11/16 at 5:30pm.  Most of you know by now that this is one of our most fun segments of the week.  I try to find the most amusing and entertaining fun facts that you will enjoy.  They are not all family friendly at times I will admit but for the most part it’s fun for all ages.

These little tid-bits of information, sometimes useless information, can be very stimulating to the mind.  I have an expert research team of Minions who work on these Fun Facts 24/7.  And they work for free!  I try to give them certain themes from time to time but generally they do a great job on their own.

1957 – Notre Dame beats Oklahoma 7-0, ending the Sooners’ 7-game winning streak.

1991 – Miami beats Florida on “Wide Right I.” Trailing by one with 30 seconds left in the game, Seminoles kicker Gerry Thomas missed a 34-yard field goal which would have given Florida State the victory. The very next season, a similar result (“Wide Right II”) would also result in a close Miami victory.

2001 – The NBDL tipped-off its inaugural season when the Greenville Groove hosted the North Charleston Lowgators at the BI-LO Center in Greenville, S.C.

1968 – With the Jets seemingly safely ahead of the Raiders in the 4th quarter, NBC abandons its coverage of the game to broadcast the TV movie “Heidi.” Oakland comes back to win in a game forever linked with the movie.  This actually happened on the 17th but thought you kids would enjoy it.

Here are a some other “fun facts” tidbits of of what’s to come today on Shemon and Sheppard:
