Hurricane Ian has left Southwest Florida a very different area. The pictures taken on Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Beach are absolutely heartbreaking. It hasn’t just destroyed homes, but for many, their livelihoods. There’s a lot of businesses that just don’t even exist anymore. I think about some of the bars and restaurants down on Fort Myers Beach and the people who worked there. There’s so many more across the area.  That means there’s a lot of people unemployed, unable to provide for their families. Fortunately, post – Hurricane Ian employment opportunities in Southwest Florida are there. It’s not going to be easy work. It’s dirty, and hot. But disaster cleanup workers are needed.

This is a list of paid gigs. If you wish to volunteer, go to https://www.volunteerflorida.org/

Volunteer.UnitedWayLee.org  has a big need for some volunteer certified forklift drivers and pallet operators

This information is being given as a service to our Southwest Florida community. I have not been able to fully check on these businesses, so I’m unable to answer any questions you may have. This is a very tough time for us all, so if this is one thing we can help with to assist, I wanted to do it as soon as possible. For full disclosure, none of these businesses advertise with the station. This is information that was given to us by listeners during our broadcasts.
