NFL Week 8 Best Bets

NFL Week 8 Best Bets

Week 8 of the NFL season is here. Sadly we will cross the half way point of the season this Sunday. But as we get deeper in the season we learn more about all of the teams. The primetime games this week are one of the better sleights. Thursday night we get Brady vs. Lamar in Tampa Bay. Sunday night it's Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers. Then Monday night we get the surging Bengals against divisional rival Cleveland. With some of the crap the NFL has forced us to watch in recent weeks, that's a solid lineup. And I've got the 5 NFL week 8 best bets.

Another London Game

For the second week in a row we only have 1 matchup of winning teams. Shockingly it is the Giants at the Seattle Seahawks. Before the season there is no way this game would have been though of as a matchup of winning teams. But here we are. We get another London game Sunday morning as well. A pair of 2-5 teams square off with Jacksonville against Denver. Jacksonville has had success across the pond. While the Broncos get Russell Wilson back after missing last week with a hamstring injury. Russ was getting a workout in on the 8 hour flight to London. Something that I'm sure went over well with his teammates.

Line in the Sand

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday at 4pm. So this is the final weekend for teams to evaluate their rosters and determine if they need that final piece to push them over the top. Or if they're going to close up shop in 2022 and start focusing on 2023. Every weekend is an interesting one in the NFL, but with 4 divisional matchups this weekend feels like a day to draw you line in the sand. Are you a contender, or are you a pretender. Here are your NFL week 8 best bets.

Denver Broncos vs Jacksonville Jaguars Under 39 points

Denver is 5-0 to the under in their last 5 against the Jags, and the Jags under is 8-1 in their last 9 home games. This game is in London game, so it should feel like a home game for Jacksonville.

San Francisco -1.5 vs Los Angeles Rams

The 49ers have owned the Rams recently. San Francisco is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 against the Rams and Kyle Shanahan is 8-3 ATS against Sean McVay.

Las Vegas Raiders vs New Orleans Saints OVER 49.5

It looked like Vegas found their stride in the 2nd half against Houston last week. Add to that the over is 4-1 in Vegas's last 5 games while the Saints have the same record over that time. The over is also 4-1 in the Saints last 5 home games. I like a lot of points with good offenses and suspect defenses.

Detroit Lions +3.5 vs Miami Dolphins

Miami is 0-3 ATS in their last 3 games while the Lions are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. No lean on the total here. Miami unders have his 4 of their last 5 while Detroit overs have hit in 5 of their last 6 games.

New England -2.5 vs New York Jets

This is 2 fold. The Jets are not going to go undefeated the rest of the way and the Patriots will bounce back after whatever that was on Monday night against Chicago. Public Joe will hammer the Jets, roll with the house on this one.
