A home decorated for Halloween with glowing pumpkins and ghosts for Halloween Week in SWFL

Halloween is finally here. While the majority of big events took place and wrapped up over the weekend, the party is far from over. Here are 5 spooky things to do Halloween week in SWFL.

It seems like we've been celebrating the beginning of fall and Halloween all month long, and we have. However, things culminate this week. Many Halloween themed events were altered and dates changed because of hurricane activity. Some are listed below.

Halloween falls on Thursday this year. As traditionally happens, many neighborhoods will be canvased by kids trick-or-treating.

However, there are some hurricane damaged areas in Punta Gorda where the annual ritual will not take place this year. One of those is the downtown trick-or-treating and Halloween celebration. The area is still quite a mess from back-to-back storms earlier this month.

Besides trick-or-treating for kids, there are all kinds of adult parties at local bars. Some offer big bucks for best costumes. Be sure to dress to impress, Halloween style.

Besides Trick-or-Treating, there are still some events you can check out this Halloween Week in SWFL

Halloween is big at area shopping centers too. Miromar Outlets is hosting Mall-O-Ween on Wednesday night, the 30th. There are costume contests for both kids and pets, candy, music, demonstrations and more. Find more details here.

Regardless what you do this week, have fun and double check those Halloween candy bags before consuming.
