Florida Homeowners Wake Up To A 10 Foot Crocodile In Their Pool

crocodile no swimming sign

Danger crocodiles, no swimming – warning sign.

That's right, it's not just alligators getting into your stuff. A crocodile found it's way into a swimming pool in the Florida Keys. A homeowner in Plantation Key was awaked at 2am Sunday morning to the sounds of a crocodile in their pool. In the video, you can see their boat parked just on the other side of the pool deck, so the croc didn't have to venture to get to the pool. Crocodiles are a threatened species in Florida and relocation was what was needed. The trappers at Pesky Critters provided the video.

In the caption they state: "Expert wildlife trapper Todd Hardwick quickly secured the crocodile, even after it’s massive splashes created a slick and dangerous footing situation on the pool deck. He and assistant trapper Jeff Peterla heaved it onto the deck where a Monroe county officer ( MCSO - Florida Keys ) then assisted them with moving it to a safe location for release."

Usually when someone reports Crocs in Florida, they're talking about the ugly shoes. My cousin swears by them and says they are sooooooo comfortably. But I  just can't do it.

In conclusion, here's what eventually happens when you build your home right next to the water in Florida. Things come to visit.

That croc did not go easy

Amazing job by the trappers on a catch and release. The croc seems pretty unfazed about the ordeal. I'd think twice about late night swimming.
