The favorite color for Floridians might not come as a surprise to some. The fact that someone actually took the time to research this might be the biggest surprise. However, color is a big deal when it comes to marketing, decorating, and more.
The study is by web-based photo editor Pixlr. They analyzed Google searches for 22 different colors. Black and white were not on the list. Then, they broke the numbers down into all kinds of categories, including most searched color by state. Red tops the list in 30 of the 50 jurisdictions. But not in Florida.
Floridians seem to love pink. Pink Flamingos, pink sunsets, pink drinks, I guess it makes sense. Following pink, Floridians most often search for all things red, then blue, brown, and finally orange.
Floridians aren't the only Americans loving on pink. The color is also the second most popular color searched for nationwide. It is followed by blue which reigns supreme in six states.
What the researches say about color
Commenting on the figures, a spokesperson for Pixlr says:
“It’s fascinating to see the varying color preferences across the USA. Red is dominant in more than half the states, and is particularly versatile considering it has associations with vigor, love and passion, as well as war, courage, danger and anger. Whether people are choosing a color for its symbolic representations and historic associations, or simply because they like the way it looks, there is a vast array of shades and hues for everyone to choose from.”
And one more thing. Brown. There are actually two states ranking brown as the most searched for color. Can you guess which ones they are? Scroll down to see. Also see other states sharing the pink obsession, the favorite color for Floridians.
