If you like the arts there are a lot going on over the next few days to entice your senses. Things begin Friday with Music Walk in downtown Fort Myers. They continue with special presentations by the Southwest Florida Symphony geared toward the MTV generation.

In addition, Artis Naples has a family event with performances from their youth programs and more. Also for the kids, don't miss the games and competition of Gymkhana in Naples.

There are lots of farmer's markets and events at local shopping centers that continue through the month of May. Many are seasonal and begin to scale back in June. So don't miss the chance to grab some of your favorite goodies from vendors before they take a break.

Now is also the time to start getting those seats once again at your favorite local restaurants. Seasonal traffic is dwindling, and businesses are welcoming the locals back.

Downtown Fort Myers Music Walk

This monthly event highlights local and regional musicians. It's Friday from 6-10pm. Some streets are closed in the downtown area and music is featured both outdoors and in many of the restaurants, bars and galleries. Free. More info here. Free. More info here.

70'S, 80'S & 90'S Unplugged

Remember the early days of MTV? Enjoy some of the best music of that generation with the Southwest Florida Symphony along with guest artist Andrew Lipke. 7:30 Saturday at Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers.  More info here

Gymkhana Family Day

Gymkhana is a festival that dates back to the 19th century in India and England and could be compared to a "Field Day". Gather the family and have some fun with events such that include obstacle courses, sack races, and egg & spoon contest, bean bag toss, tug o’ war and more. Saturday 10am-1pm, Collier Museum at Government Center on the east trail in Naples. Free.  More info here

Celebrate Spring Day

The Spring Community Day is Saturday at Artis Naples. The day is full of family fun, food trucks and performances from Youth Symphonia and the Youth Chorus.  Artis Naples is off of US41 in North Naples. Noon to 4pm. Free. More info here

Pauly Shore

Feel like some laughter this weekend? Check out the shows of actor and comedian Pauly Shore. He is at Off The Hook Comedy Club in Naples Thursday through Saturday. Tickets start at $30. Off The Hook is on Vanderbilt Beach Road. More info here

C.A.R.E. Ride 2024

Calling all cyclists. This is the 4th annual event to benefit The Center for Abuse & Rape Emergencies Inc Victim Services Center in Charlotte County. The ride makes several stops for refreshments and activities. Saturday from 9am to 11am. Kickoff is at  At Hades Hounds Clubhouse. More info here.
