Even though 2024 still has a few months left, I'm already starting to make plans for next year and one of Travelzoo's best places to travel is 2025 is less than 50 miles from Florida.

I have always loved traveling ever since I was little. I blame my parents for giving me the travel bug and every time, growing up, that I knew a break from school was happening, I would ask where we're going next. Whether it's traveling inside the US or out, I always love a good adventure. I still have a trip to Mexico I'm looking forward to next month, but for next year, I'm in the early stages of planning my next destination.

Maybe you're one that's been just about everywhere, or you're new to international travel and looking for the next spot to hit, Travelzoo has put together a list of the places to travel in 2025 and one of those places, you don't have to go too far. It's less than 50 miles from Florida.

When it comes to travel, I'm definitely someone who's always trying to find a deal. I look at it as the more money I can save, the more places I can go. I do like long trips, but have become a fan of the long weekends too. And Travelzoo is a website known for their great deals. They have put together a list of Best Bets 2025, their top picks for travel next year. Destinations on their list were chosen based on a few factors: new travel infrastructure that's made getting there easier, big anniversaries, landmark events or standout conscious travel practices, increased interest among Travelzoo members or exceptional culinary and cultural offerings.

Here are 5 that made the list, you can check out all of the best places to travel in 2025 here

Malta

I first became familiar with Malta while watching Queen of the South and now with Gladiator II in theaters, it's being talked about even more. Malta is an island in the Mediterranean filled with history. The food sounds amazing with dishes like Kapunata (Maltese ratatouille) and Bragioli (stuffed beef rolls). And it's easy to get around with bus rides almost everywhere you want to go less than 30 minutes.

Japan

Japan has so much to offer from temples to street markets and city streets that are bustling with so much culture. I have a friend in Tokyo right now eating her way through the city and finding fun trinkets in vending machines throughout the city. Japan features a unique blend of ancient history and modern conveniences perfect for those who want to experience both.

Slovenia

I have to be honest that of all the places on my list to travel to overseas, Slovenia has never been on my list, but that may change now. It's a small country is Central Europe with gorgeous scenery. Between mountains, beaches, forests and meadows, plus castles and caves to explore, there's no shortage of things to do.

The Bahamas

The Bahamas are just a short boat ride away from the coast of Florida. In fact, Bimini is just 44 nautical miles away making the islands a great weekend getaway destination. From short cruises on multiple lines to gorgeous resorts for a longer stay, the turquoise waters of The Bahamas are very unique. There's plenty to do from snorkeling to swimming with the pigs to checking out local beach bars and cuisine.

Greenland

I've been to Iceland, but Greenland is on my list as well. It's been very hard to reach in the past, but with the opening of a new international airport in Nuuk, the capital city, flights are getting easier. If you've wanted to see the northern lights, this is the spot to see them. Plus hiking, boat tours, birdwatching and more.
