Sizzle Dining Stop At Gather In Cape Coral

This is the last day to take advantage of the Sizzle Dining menus at restaurants from Marco Island to Sanibel Island and everywhere in between in Southwest Florida. I squeezed in one more last night and the menu was great. Here is a look at my Sizzle Dining stop at Gather in Cape Coral

Gather is a lively waterfront dining spot at Tarpon Point in the Cape. For Sizzle Dining the chef looked at some of the most popular items on the regular menu. He then grouped them into a three-course pre-fix menu. It cost $39 and also included a couple of upgrades.

About Sizzle Dining In Southwest Florida

This regional dining event is intended to support local restaurants during what is traditionally the slowest time of the year for them. To lure diners, more than 100 restaurants all over Southwest Florida are offering pre-fix lunches and dinners ranging from $19 to $59 for two, three and four-course meals.

This year I've manage a Sizzle lunch at Bicyclette Cookshop in Naples, and I still think about that dessert. Photos and more info here.

Sizzle Dining 2024 runs through September 25th. Not only is it an affordable way to try a new restaurant or visit an old favorite, but you also help a charity in the process. $1 of each meal sold is donated to Blessings in a Backpack which helps feed food insecure children.

Gather has regular dining tables, a large bar and this cozy lounge seating in the middle of the restaurant for hanging out.


New Cocktail

Gather is out with new cocktail list for fall. This is one of them. It has vodka, and a Lavendar syrup. For a fall cocktail, it is light, refreshing, and goes down a little too easy.


Crispy Eggplant Parmesan

These two thick disks of eggplant are a starter at Gather. They are breaded and fried and served with a little red sauce and fresh mozzarella.


Chopped Salad

Sometimes you just need a salad, and this was excellent at Gather. Romaine lettuce with crunchy bits of bacon, crisp parmesan cheese and a house made ranch dressing.


Crispy Brussels Sprouts

A Gather favorite, these Brussels Sprouts are cooked in a sweet and spicy Geneal Tso sauce. There are also some cashews for texture.


Fried Chicken Mac-N-Cheese

This was a huge and very decadent entree choice at Gather. The mac-n-cheese was creamy and rich, the chicken was boneless with a hearty crispness. Comfort food at its best.


Seared Salmon

This salmon filet had a siracha honey glaze that was outstanding. It was over a layer of creamy Japanese sweet potatoes. The dish had all of the elements, sweet, savory, spicy and cooked perfectly.


Toasted Almond Creme Brûlée

One of the dessert choices at Gather was this Toasted Almond Creme Brulee. The portion was generous, and it was just the right temperature.

Gather is located along the waterfront at Tarpon Point Marina in Cape Coral. There are great views of the sunset from here if you time it right.
