Saquon Barkley is awesome. The Philadelphia Eagles running back may actually be the league MVP in a day and age when the running back has been an after-thought in the quarterback-passing centric NFL. Barkley rushed for 146 yards and scored two touchdowns within :20 seconds in Thursday night's 26-18 win over the Washington Commanders. Oh and he caught two passes for 52 yards.

Saquon Barkley is awesome. He has been awesome all season. In the Eagles opening week win over the Packers he rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns and he caught a touchdown in his Eagles debut. He has been amazing ever since. Oh and let us not forget his career-highlight backward hurdle over a player against Jacksonville!

What is equally amazing is his prior team, the New York Giants, completely mismanaged and disrespected him during his entire career. They fought him tooth and nail for every dollar on every contract negotiation and clearly did not value him or running backs in general. All along he continued to preach that he never wanted to play for any team other than the New York Giants.

SAQUON BARKLEY IS AWESOME

This past off season they low balled him on a new deal right up until the time management was informed he was leaving and heading to their division rivals in Philadelphia. The moment of truth occurred in front of HBO's Hard Knocks cameras when a stunned GM Joe Schoen took a phone call from Barkley's agent informing him they had lost their running back because they were too cheap. Schoen's mistake is looking more incompetent with each passing game by Barkley and the Eagles who are in first place in the NFC East.

Saquon Barkley is awesome! With Thursday's game Barkley became a 1000 yard rusher. And he still has seven games to go. He is 175 yards from a career high. He might reach that mark in next week's Sunday night game against the Rams.
