Lions Built for Outdoors: What? The Lions are a timing and finesse team that plays indoors in a dome at Ford Field. Fourteen of their seventeen games are indoors this season. All of this is true. However, a dirty secret around the NFL is that the Lions are really a power team built to play outdoors in the elements during outdoor bad weather games during the playoffs in January.
Need proof? Did you see the Lions throttle the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on a cold, rainy and windy day Sunday this weekend? The Lions have the best offensive line in football. They love to lineup and smash people. And they have not one but two running backs in David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs who can run over people or run away from them. Both can catch the ball out of the backfield. And they can throw!
Whether the Lions need a long yard on 4th down or if they need to burn the clock for the last four minutes of a game to seal a win, the Lions can punch you in the mouth and win anywhere, anytime. -Lions built for outdoors!
LIONS BUILT FOR OUTDOORS
We are at the midway point of the season. If the playoffs started today the Lions would own the number one seed in the NFC playoffs. But there is a full half a season left. The Lions are already suffering some key injuries and they already had their bye week a bit early this season. But looking forward they have a prime time game Sunday night on the road at Houston.
Then three of their next four games are at home. But as we pointed out, that doesn't mater. They are built to win anywhere, under any conditions. A fact that is enhanced by quarterback Jared Goff who is on the hottest streak of any quarterback ever over the last six weeks. The Lions built for outdoors? Yes!
