This is what the new world of college football looks like; multiple top-25 matchups every weekend. One trend is that the SEC continues to deliver great matchups weekly. The college football landscape has undergone a massive transformation of the last half-decade. And this is the first season we see the fruit of the power brokers decisions in the sport. Since the end of September the SEC has given us Georgia @ Alabama, Texas v Oklahoma, and Ole Miss @ LSU. And week 8 might be the best with Georgia traveling to Texas and Alabama @ Tennessee. The SEC continues to deliver big time matchups week after week.
Big-Time Matchups
But this is not the end of big-time matchups in the SEC. Alabama still travels to Death Valley, LSU going to Texas A&M, and Georgia going to Ole Miss. And that's not bringing up rivalry weekend where Texas and Texas A&M will rekindle one of the best rivalries in the sport. The Big Ten has some great matchups to offer. But it's the deepest conference in the country that holds a lions' share of the best matchups remaining on the schedule. It's easy to see why the SEC continues to deliver for college football fans.
Other Games
This is not intended to be a hit piece on the other conferences, specifically the Big Ten. There are other games remaining on the schedule that deserve to be front and center. Michigan and Ohio State is always must watch television. The Big 12 is going to come down to the last week and may provide the most chaos of any conference race. Army and Navy are providing one of the best story lines of the college football season, and they might play in back-to-back weeks to close out the season. Sorry ACC, we're all just waiting (and hoping) for Miami and Clemson in the conference championship game.
