Payton and Brees Return: Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and his former quarterback Drew Brees will be in New Orleans for Thursday Night football as the Saints host Payton's current team, the Denver Broncos.
Payton coached the Saints for a decade and a half and during that time he led them to nine playoff appearances and the franchise's only Super Bowl win.
PAYTON AND BREES RETURN
Payton and Brees Return: Brees will also be there because the team will induct him into the Saints Hall of Fame.
As for the game itself the Saints are struggling with a 2-4 record. Starting quarterback Derek Carr injured his oblique after a quick start where the Saints jumped to a 2-0 record with blowout wins over the Panthers and Cowboys. But if they lose tonight they will own a 5 game losing streak and fans are getting frustrated with current head coach Dennis Allen. Spencer Rattler will make his second career start at QB.
Payton and his Broncos come into the game with a 3-3 record as he brings along his rookie quarterback Bo Nix with some signs of promise. And Nix has a receiver to throw to in Courtland Sutton who is good for a circus highlight catch or two.
We will carry the game on ESPN Southwest Florida but first catch a preview and analysis of the game on Craig Shemon and Company on ESPN Southwest Florida from 2-6pm.
