Florida Man Rides Jet Ski Through His Own Flooded House

Florida Man and His Jet Ski

Two years ago, areas of Southwest Florida were flooded by Ian. We rebuilt. Around 2 weeks ago, some of those same areas saw extensive flooding from Hurricane Helene. We cleaned up and moved on. Then this week those same areas were again flooded. This time from the surge of Hurricane Milton. One Florida Man has had enough of his home and belongings being ruined. So he rode a jet ski though his own flooded house. Sometimes you just have to release the frustration and let loose.

In a video posted to facebook titled, "How true Floridians do it?", the Florida man wades through the floodwaters to get on his jet ski to do, well, exactly what you think he's about to do. Keep in mind, it's dangerous to walk in floodwaters, you really don't know what you're about to step on.

The Jet Ski Video

Before he even gets to the jet ski, the man points to some of his belongings floating in the area where his pool is. One word of caution before you watch this, there's some NSFW language in the video. Can you blame him? How often can lose everything?

And that's how you do it. Trying to make the best of an impossible situation. Also, you'll notice all the construction materials. He was trying to refurbish his house from the last time it flooded. A lot of effort now gone to waste. But at least it looks like the jet skis made it through the storm ok. Gotta take those small victories.

Hurricane Milton

Although the flooding was devastating, we knew it was coming. The surprising part of Milton was the tornadoes it spun off. A lot of residences were destroyed in Fort Myers from the outbreak. There's a lot to rebuild. Again.

Robert Haight salvages what he can from his home after what appeared to be a tornado tore the roof off before Hurricane Milton's arrival on October 09, 2024, in Fort Myers, Florida. He said he had just had the roof replaced two years after Hurricane Ian had damaged it. (Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images)
