We hear a lot of crazy stories in Florida, but this one may take the cake as one North Fort Myers machete mama chopped a man's thumb off.
The world is a crazy place and there's really no putting anything past anyone these days. What I am surprised with is how many stories we've heard just in Southwest Florida alone over the past 6 months that have to do with people wielding machetes. There was the lady in Pine Manor who threw a machete at a neighbor over loud noise. There was a guy in Naples who showed up at a community center threatening pickleball players with a machete. I guess I didn't think a machete was that common of a weapon. Apparently I thought wrong. Well, in North Fort Myers, one machete mama, Sheila King took things even further than just a threat.
North Fort Myers Machete Mama Chops Man's Thumb Off
This insane situation took place Sunday night on Suncoast Drive in North Fort Myers. According to NBC2, Sheila King attacked a man with a machete, chopping the tip of his thumb off. What led to this attack? Police say that King got mad at people living on a property saying they weren't doing chores. It was then that she took it upon herself to walked in to a camper with the weapon swinging it around, with it eventually hitting a table and the man's thumb.
The owner of the property said that King had been living there and got kicked out, which is I'm sure what she was really mad about. I get it, I'd be upset too to not have a place to live, but resorting to violence obviously isn't the answer. But it does seem to be the Florida woman way.
This isn't King's first run-in with police. In fact, she has a pretty hefty arrest record dating back to the 90's. Lots of drug charges plus fraud, burglaries, traffic violations, probation violations and failure to appears.
