You might want to think twice about telling someone that they have a nice car. Some people can't even handle compliments nowadays. Just ask the Florida driver who got assaulted just because he was being nice. It all went down in Polk County when things got real weird on the road.
According to WPEC, on Sunday afternoon, about 5:45 p.m., a dude was just driving down Tindel Camp Road, behind this guy named John Sturgeon. Out of nowhere, Sturgeon stops in the middle of the road. But here’s the thing, this wasn’t some Florida road rage situation at first. The driver behind him was actually being nice. He gave Sturgeon a compliment like, “Yo, nice car bro!” That’s it. That’s all the man did.
Nice Car Bro:
Now, most of us, when someone says, “Hey, nice car,” we say, “Thanks” or smile and keep it moving. But not John Sturgeon. This crazy dude didn’t want any of that good energy. Instead of just taking the compliment, he hopped out of his car like he had something to prove. So then this Meathead Sturgeon walks up and straight up punches him in the face!
Imagine you’re just trying to be nice, maybe even brighten someone’s day, and they hit you for it! The driver, confused as hell, told deputies he was just saying he liked the guy’s ride. That’s all. And there’s video proof, too. The whole thing got caught on the driver’s dash cam. The footage shows a black Dodge Charger just chilling in the middle of the road. You can hear the victim shouting, “I like your car, bro!” Meanwhile, Sturgeon is out there cursing and yelling like someone insulted his entire family. He walks back to his Charger, throws it in drive, and speeds off. Roid rage much my guy?
Of course, the cops had to get involved. Polk County Sheriff's Office wasn’t about to let a random face-punching savage slide. They did some investigating, and figured out who the angry loony was… Meet John Sturgeon. They traced him back to his crib in Winter Haven, but surprise, surprise, he wasn’t home when they got there.
Now, we’re left with more questions. Like, who gets mad at a compliment? Maybe Sturgeon is one of those people who can’t handle kindness. Either way, he’s probably not getting any more compliments about his car for a while.
