Is FSU football in trouble? The Seminoles are jet lagged after their last second loss to Georgia Tech in Dublin on Saturday to kick off the 2024 college football season. DJ Uiagalelei was not awesome, completing 19 of 27 passes for 193 yards and 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. And the Florida State running game never got going. To boil it down, Georgia Tech looked tougher and stronger in the trenches. Their defensive line was active all day and their offensive line punched their way to 190 yards rushing against the Seminoles.

The best case scenario for FSU is we look back at the end of the season and say that Georgia Tech is pretty good. The worst case scenario is that the Seminoles are in trouble.

FSU FOOTBALL IN TROUBLE

Our last memory of their program was their crushing end to 2023. A key injury at QB kept them from cracking the top 4 rankings and earning a spot in the college football playoffs. Then, for a bunch of reasons they got blown out by Georgia by 60 points in the Orange Bowl. Now, the loss to Georgia Tech in Week Zero has Seminoles fans reading headlines like: FSU football in trouble! Yikes.

Florida State football will be on national TV again for their next game vs Boston College on Labor Day evening. FSU is a 24.5 point favorite. If the game is close it is time to hit the panic button. They should (SHOULD) run the table vs BC, Memphis, Cal, and SMU before hosting Clemson October 5th. The next big one is three weeks later at the U to face Miami. North Carolina, Notre Dame and Florida still dot the schedule. We will find out soon if FSU football in trouble is a real thing or they just hit a bump in the road.
