NFL Training Camps Begin This Week

Tua Tagovailoa Please Retire

NFL training camps begin this week. Why so early? First of all the annual Hall of Fame Game between the Houston Texans and the Chicago Bears is in two and half weeks so those two teams get a jump on everybody else. Both rookies and veterans for the Texans report on July 17. While the Bears rookies report tomorrow and the veterans arrive on July 19.

Thinking ahead to the Hall of Fame Game, I would not expect to see CJ Stroud except on the Texans sidelines during the game. However, I imagine the Bears will let number one pick, quarterback Caleb Williams take snaps for a series or two. That is, if he gets his contract done this week.

NFL TRAINING CAMPS BEGIN

How about our Florida teams? Their NFL training camps are around the corner as well. Jacksonville Jaguars rookies arrive July 19 while Trevor Lawrence and the vets arrive July 23. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers let rookies check in July 22 and the veterans arrive the following day. And the Miami Dolphins rookies arrive on July 16 and Tua Tagovailoa and the vets show up on the 23rd.

Speaking of contracts getting done, there is nothing new on Tua's extension with the Dolphins. Or Tyreek Hill's for that matter.

As for the rest of the league, hope is eternal because every fan base's team is undefeated and excited for a new season. When NFL training camps begin it means that the long wait from last season until now is almost over!
