When you think grocery stores, you think of food shopping for things like bread, milk, meat and eggs, but soon ammo vending machines could be coming to Florida grocery stores.
Here in Florida, we're very much the land of the free. I was born and raised in Chicago, and while I always loved visiting Florida for vacations when I was growing up, I never truly realized just how great Florida really is until I moved here in 2018. It's the best decision I ever made. Now, we all know about the Florida Man and his antics. So sure, there's a lot of craziness down here, but when you think of something that is SO Florida, tell me this isn't it: ammo vending machines. And they could be coming to grocery stores here in the sunshine state.
Ammo Vending Machines Could Be Coming To Florida Grocery Stores
If you're a gun enthusiast, you know that to buy ammo right now in Florida you have to go to a gun shop. Places like Florida Gun Site and Guns on 41 in Fort Myers, The Alamo or Naples Guns and Ammo in Naples. But getting ammo could get easier.
When you think of vending machines, what comes to mind first would be chips, candy and soda, even movies. But ammo vending machines could be coming to Florida grocery stores. There's a company called American Rounds that already has these vending machines in Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas. But they say they've had a lot of requests to expand to Florida. And I can see it. In fact, I think I already know the grocery store that will have them first- my favorite grocery store, Seed to Table. Tell me Alfie Oakes wouldn't put in for one of those!
Now, if you're worried about the security of these machines, fear not. The machines use AI ID scanners to verify age and they also use facial recognition technology, so the two will be paired.
According to WSVN, American Rounds will be putting in their 8th vending machine next week in Colorado with hopes for these machines to be in Florida by the end of the year.
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, there is a national holiday honoring just about anything. And this month is no exception, it's National Hamburger Month in May, according to NationalToday.com.
What is a burger? Merriam Webster defines a burger as similar to a hamburger, which is defined as ground beef or a patty of ground beef used in a sandwich split typically by a round bun. Nowadays, you’ll find tofu burgers, turkey burgers, Impossible burgers, among other concoctions. But, when it comes down to the best burger in Fort Myers, where should we go?
Burgers are a go to here in the US, whether you grab one from a food truck, at a drive thru or grill your own at a backyard BBQ at home. Hamburgers, in my opinion, are best with cheese, fried egg, bacon, mustard and ketchup. Yes, things get messy.
Where To Grab A Burger In Fort Myers
The folks over at Yelp! did the work for us. If you're not familiar with Yelp! they rank local restaurants and specific food and drink options based off of user reviews and recommendations.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention a location that is loved by Southwest Florida locals, absent from this list. We can't forget about Cabbage Key. Their burgers are nothing fancy, but they are good and the atmosphere cannot be beat. I also really enjoy the potato salad...a lot!
