Snack Stand Robbery: 12-Year-Old Takes on Florida Thief

A 12-year-old Miami-Dade boy running a snack business was robbed by a 59-year-old man, but he bravely chased the thief down.

In Miami-Dade, a 12-year-old kid got his snack hustle rudely interrupted. According to WTVJ, Noel Prince, who started Caveman’s Snack Shack a year ago, was out there grinding to save up for football, modeling, and just trying to be independent. This boy had it all planned out, knowing one day he’d need to stand on his own two feet.

But then, out of nowhere, a 59-year-old dude named Michael Hughes swooped in and snatched his bag, which had $40 in it. That’s right, a grown man robbing a kid. Horrible! Noel was on his way to his usual spot at a 7-Eleven when this went down. But, Noel didn’t back down, though. He chased after Hughes like he was some sort of crime fighter. Hughes wasn’t trying to hear that, though. He took the cash, threw the bag and a rock at Noel, and tried to bounce.

Noel figured the guy must’ve been desperate for cash but knew robbing a kid ain't the way to get it. Noel and his mom followed Hughes all the way to his house, then called the cops on him. They got Hughes locked up real quick.

Even after that crazy mess, Noel’s not letting this stop his snack game. He’s just getting smarter about it. He said he’s gonna keep his money bag at the back now and not carry any cash when he’s out selling. Smart move, kid.

Now, Hughes is facing robbery and aggravated battery charges. But Noel? He’s still got his eyes on the prize, ready to get back to business, just a bit wiser and a whole lot more careful.
