Fathers Day is Low-Key Awesome

Fathers Day dad and kid

Fathers day is low-key awesome. Sure, at first glance it does not get the attention that Mother's Day does. And if we are honest, of all the holidays it is pretty chill. But most dads like chill. If you are fortunate enough to be a dad it is the most important job in the world.

Being a dad brings balance and stability to the household. Being a dad shows, hopefully by good example, how to provide for a family, how to set examples of work ethic, teaching, and how to handle relationships. Sometimes a good dad will set examples without uttering a word. Leading by example is sometimes the best way to teach kids how to deal with life. And, by the way, that goes both ways. One can exude bad examples as well. Either way, kids notice everything dads do and say and absorb a dad's tendencies like a sponge.

There are a lot of famous dads out there because of their fame or fortune. But most great dads operate day to day without any attention at all from the outside world.

However, speaking of fame, we may have some fun with famous dads - real or fictional from TV - on Craig Shemon and Company on ESPN Southwest Florida today from 2-6. We will look at dads from politics, TV, sports and all walks of life!

FATHERS DAY WISHES!

And when it is all said and done and our radio show kicks off a big weekend, and whether you will be grilling, chilling, or celebrating with a big get-together, we'd like to wish all dads a happy Fathers Day from all of us at Craig Shemon and Company.
