Luka Doncic Needs Help From Kyrie Irving
Luka Doncic needs help from Kyrie Irving and the rest of his Dallas Mavericks teammates as the NBA Finals shifts to Dallas with his team trailing the series 2-0.
So far it’s been all Doncic for the Mavs. In Game 1 he scored 30 points and had 10 rebounds. But Irving scored just 12 points and missed all 5 three pointers. Two other teammates cracked double figures but it was not enough in the 107-89 blowout loss.
In Game 2, Doncic scored 32 points along with 11 rebounds and 11 assists. But Irving scored just 16 points and was 0-3 from three point range. Three other Mavs scored in double figures and the Mavs had a chance to cut the lead to 3 in the final minute. However, Derrick White blocked PJ Washington’s shot to preserve a 105-98 win for the Celtics.

LUKA DONCIC NEEDS HELP
Now that Game 3 shifts to Dallas, perhaps the Mavericks role players will be more comfortable at home and contribute more. But that goes for Irving as well. And, believe me, he is no role player. He needs to step up and be a bonafide superstar next to Doncic or this NBA Finals is going to be over quickly. Like we said, Luka Doncic needs help. He needs a lot of help against a loaded Celtics team.
The Celtics are strong from top to bottom. Any player can light up the scoreboard each night. But more importantly, they all defend well. If Doncic is their only real threat then their job is easy. That’s why it is so important for Irving to step up and cause problems for the Celtics.
