Escaped convict Jesse James Hall just played the ultimate game of hide and seek with law enforcement last week. The guy busted out of a prison in Orlando and decided to take a little road trip, ending up in Lake County. He didn't exactly blend in when he turned up in some woman's driveway, and she got the shock of her life.
According to FOX 35, Lady Lake Police caught up with Hall on Carriage Lane, thanks to some body cam footage that showed them slapping the cuffs on him pretty quick. At first, Hall tried to play it cool and said his name was "Jesse Hillman." Nice try, but his fingerprints told the real story. Police Chief Steve Hunt said Hall had been running since last Wednesday. He had been locked up for grand thefts and felony drug charges, but he bolted from his work release program in Orlando.
The action kicked off early Sunday morning. A woman heard her BMW’s car alarm blaring and went to check it out. She found the escaped convict chilling in the driver’s seat. He grabbed her arm, but she managed to escape and call 911. Talk about a close call.
Escaped Convict Caught :
Officers arrived just three minutes later and found the escaped convict wandering around. He claimed he was in the neighborhood visiting a woman he knew. Sure, buddy. I'm sure you weren't an escaped convict, just a guy on a road trip. Now, Chief Hunt mentioned they’re still figuring out what he was really up to with that lady’s car, and not just using it as a cool hiding spot.
Now Hall’s back behind bars in the Lake County jail, facing new charges of burglary, battery, and resisting arrest. That little adventure didn't get him very far. Next time, maybe he’ll think twice before playing hide 'n seek in someone’s driveway.
