Express Yourself: Florida Man Seen Streaking Down Highway Completely Naked

Stop me if you've heard this one before: "We're going streaking!" Sounds crazy but it happens here all the time.  I can't help but scratch my head and wonder if there's some secret Florida tradition that I missed out on. I mean, who knew running around naked was the latest craze? A guy from Mary Esther, Florida, decided to run down Highway 98 and yes, he was in his birthday suit.

According to Fox35, the man was seen sprinting down the highway on Sunday night like he was in some kind of nudist 5K. Not exactly your typical Sunday stroll. Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies were made aware of the situation, probably thanks to the flurry of calls from onlookers who couldn't believe their eyes. Usually it's cars seen streaking by and not naked bodies.

It appears that our nude jogger wasn't merely running for the fun of it. Instead, he seemed to be on some sort of wild trip. This peculiar behavior had to be fueled by, well, who-knows-what kind of substances. Fortunately, deputies were able to catch up with the nudist on the loose.

Expressing concern for his well-being, or perhaps just feeling straight up confused, they decided that a trip to the local hospital was necessary for a full-on evaluation. It's understandable; a naked jog down the highway is certainly not your average Sunday morning routine. Once this individual sobers up, he will likely be reconsidering his life. Perhaps he should try some more stay-at-home, clothed activities moving forward.

From a legal standpoint, our streaking friend is now facing charges for indecent exposure. While his highway run may have granted him a moment of fame, it comes with a price tag, courtesy of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. It's safe to say that whatever he was smoking isn't on any of my to-do lists.

It's rare in the U.S. to come across a nude beach, but two of the best nude beaches in the world are right here in Florida.

Picture this: you arrive at the beach, whether it be Sanibel, Fort Myers, Naples or Bonita, wearing your best bikini, ready to unwind and enjoy hot summer sun. Then you look to your left, and to your right, and see people wearing a little less than you, or nothing at all. It's a common sight in Europe, but here in the U.S. not so much. However, there are some nude beaches to be found and in fact, two in Florida are among the best in the world.

I feel like a serious hazard for nude sunbathing would be the sun. Sure, your arms, legs and face get exposure day to day, but some parts of us don't regularly see the sun. It might be a two person job to get to those hard-to-reach areas. Let's also not forget that sand is, well, sandy. I always say my least favorite part of the beach is the sand. It's pretty and feels good between your toes, but if you're in the buff that sand can get to places sand should never go.

A swimwear company called Pour Moi put out its list of the best beaches in the world for nude sunbathing. In Florida, two beaches made the list. Coming in at #20, Playalinda Beach located inside Canaveral National Seashore in Brevard County. Haulover Beach Park in Miami came in at #1. You can see the full list here. The top 5 are below.

Playa de los Muertos is known as the ‘entrance gate’ to Cabo de Gata-Níjar natural park. This park has some of the best nude beaches in Spain.

Patara Beach is the longest beach on the Turkish Riviera. Not only great for sunbathing, this beach also offers horseback riding and surfing.

Red Beach gets its name from the red lava rocks. They make for great scenery and also offer a cover while nude sunbathing. 

Praia de Tambaba is a clothing optional beach. The gorgeous water and soft, white sand make for a great setting for sunbathing. 

Haulover Beach Park in Miami takes the top spot. It's a hot spot year-round in South Florida and if you want to bring the family, there are designated spots for those looking to sunbathe nude.
