When it comes to dinner dishes in my Cape Coral home, there are a few rules. Clean your plate and also put your plate in the dishwasher. But don't weaponize your plate. Someone should have told that to Eric Daniel Torres of Florida.
According to the Tampa Free Press, a 62-year-old man became the victim of the plate-wielding assailant. Yes, a seemingly harmless object we use every day, was turned into a weapon in the hands of Torres. Talk about a food fight!
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office got the call, and suddenly, Torres found himself slapped with charges of aggravated battery and resisting arrest. The victim went to the Hospital for injuries inflicted not by fists but by a dinner plate!! That poor victim is gonna use a bowl from now on... Maybe even as a helmet. Who knows?
But Torres, doesn't go down without a fight. He turns a routine arrest into a brawl, spitting, cursing, and resisting. The end result? Torres finds himself hit with a $50,000 bond. You can get a plate at the world's finest restaurant for less than that!
The lesson here? Be aware of who you invite to dinner. If you're not careful, it could be the plate wielding Florida man named Eric Daniel Torres.
