Book A Cool Stay At A New Art Hotel Made Of Ice

giant ice sculpture of an ear

People flock to Southwest Florida to escape the cold. However, when the "cold" creates something this magnificent, it might be time to try something new. It has been four years since there has been an art hotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden. However, ICEHOTEL 34 is now open. You can actually book a cool stay at a new art hotel made out of ice. Every room is literally a work of art with giant sculptures made form ice and snow. The suites are the vision of 32 artists from 14 different countries who have created 15 rooms to tour and stay in. In addition, they've sculpted a main hall and a ceremony hall.

About the art hotel made of ice

This ice/art hotel concept has been taking place for decades. This is the 34th year as indicated by the name. It took six weeks and 500 tons of ice and snow for ICEHOTEL to be constructed. Ice blocks were harvested from the Torne River in the spring and kept cold in warehouses. Artist chosen to turn the snow and ice into functional works of art are from Sweden, Poland, Japan, Italy, Belgium, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, France, Singapore, Belgium, Slovakia, and the UK.

Winter will eventually end and the ice installations melt. However, there is a permanent structure that you can visit year round. The hotel has an ice movie theater, an ice bar and three restaurants.

I've been to one of the original ice bars in Sweden and it was super cool, pun intended. We were limited as to how long we could stay in the bar, sipping cocktails from blocks of ice. It was fun while it lasted. However, I can't imagine spending the night on blocks of ice. Then again, it might be on your bucket list. If that is the case, this might be the year for you to go.

Finally, check out these rooms in the art hotel made of ice. Gorgeous.

Simply, that sense of being and feeling cozy.  MyDatingAdviser used hygge as a guide to assess 170 US towns. They used three key factors. First, the weather and things such as temperature and snowfall. Second, culinary delights which includes charming cafes and bakeries. Finally, the researchers looked at overall things to do.
