If you are flying this long holiday weekend, it's always good to be prepared. While there is little you can do about flight delays and cancelations, there are a few things you can anticipate. Such as specific airports in Florida and around the country that have a track record of delays, as well as airlines that have trouble staying on time. If you are flying on one of these airlines from Fort Myers RSW, it's good to know the best airlines for on-time departures Labor Day weekend.  Maybe if you are traveling on one of these, you should pack some extra snacks. This latest research comes from Price4Limo, a company that offers transportation around the country in the form of limousines, party buses, charter buses and more. They used data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics to come up with this list. The stats were collected for Labor Day Weekend travel around the country over the past five years.

Delays and cancelations are just one reason so many travelers choose to carry on their luggage when flying.

Airlines on-time

The airline with the least amount of delays was Hawaiian Airlines followed by Delta and Alaska Airlines. The flight company with the most amount of delays during that time period was JetBlue Airways. Allegiant and Frontier were tied for second worst. But wait, there is more. Spirit Airlines had the highest average of cancellations during Labor Day Weekend. No one wants to be  abandoned in an airport, scrambling to find a seat on another flight or airline.

If you already bought your ticket, we know it's too late to look at other airlines. It just helps you prepare for the possibility. However, it's something to consider moving forward into the next busy holiday season, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. They are just around the corner.
