North Port Florida Men Arrested for Fire Hydrant Fiasco

Flint Continues To Struggle With Water Contamination Crisis

North Port Florida Men Arrested for Fire Hydrant Fiasco.

Looks like we have a couple of Floridian geniuses here.  According to NBC2, David Lopez Zamada and Yuri Rivero Peraza were caught in North Port extracting over 200 gallons of water from a fire hydrant. Talk about being thirsty!

Now, let's get one thing straight. I'm not condoning stealing, but if you're going to go through the effort of stealing something, at least make it something worth stealing. I mean, 200 gallons of water? That's barely enough to fill up my pool for my next summer party.

And to make matters worse, they messed up the fire hydrant and the water quality of nearby homes! So, not only did they steal water, but they also contaminated it. Way to go, guys.

Fire Hydrant Fiasco:

The Special Enforcement Team was on to them, though. They noticed the duo pumping water into a Vermeer tank on their truck. I bet they were thinking they hit the jackpot with their find. Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink, right?

The two men were arrested for interfering with firefighter equipment and theft. I'm not sure what the punishment is for stealing water, but I hope it involves them having to walk around with a giant "I stole water from a fire hydrant" sign for the rest of their lives.

But let's be real, these guys weren't the brightest bulbs in the box. Who in their right mind thinks it's a good idea to steal water from a fire hydrant? I mean, it's not like they were trying to pull off the heist of the century here. They could have at least gone for something more valuable, like gold or diamonds.

These dudes may have thought they were slick, but they ended up getting caught and charged with a crime that will probably leave them scratching their heads for years to come. Moral of the story? If you're going to steal something, make it worth your while.
