Philadelphia and Kansas City Head Coaches Highlight Today's Super Bowl 57 Fun Facts. We are just 5 days away from Super Bowl 57 in Arizona. Here are some more interesting fun facts regarding the Eagles and Chiefs.
Age Before Beauty In Arizona
The 23-year age gap between Andy Reid and Nick Sirianni is the second-largest age difference between head coaches in a Super Bowl matchup. The largest age difference was 33 years between Bill Belichick and Sean McVay in Super Bowl LIII.
Andy Reid spent 14 years as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999-2012 and led them to a Super Bowl appearance in the 2004 season. He will also be the second person to coach both for and against a franchise in the Super Bowl, joining Dan Reeves who did so with the Broncos.
If Nick Sirianni were to win the Super Bowl, he would become the 9th head coach to win the Super Bowl within his first 2 seasons, and the first since Doug Pederson did so with the Eagles in 2017. Sirianni would also be the 5th-youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl all-time.
Passing Leader vs. Rushing Leader
This Super Bowl marks the second time that the leader in passing touchdowns during the regular season (Chiefs) is facing the leader in rushing touchdowns (Eagles) in the Super Bowl. The other instance was in Super Bowl XXVI between the Bills and Washington.
Philadelphia is bidding to become the first team to lead the NFL in Rush TD and win the Super Bowl in the same season since the 1998 Broncos.
During the regular season, the Eagles defense led the NFL in sacks while the Chiefs were second. This will be the third time that the top two teams in defensive sacks will meet in the Super Bowl, with the previous two instances being between the Giants and Patriots in Super Bowl XLII and the Steelers and Packers in Super Bowl XLV.
