Indiana Bloomington

Indiana hosts #1 Purdue Today at 4pm in Bloomington And Will Have a Serious Emotional Impact For Craig Shemon.  Here is all you need to know about today's matchup.

1 Purdue at 21 Indiana – Saturday, 4 ET on ESPN

Today will be the 216th meeting in series history, the most played series in Big Ten history. Purdue leads 125-90.

Purdue has a strong recent record against Indiana in their series, having won 10 of the last 11 games. However, the most recent trip to Assembly Hall in Bloomington resulted in a loss for Purdue.

Additionally, the upcoming game between the two teams will be significant as it will be the first time both teams are ranked in the AP Poll since 2016, when Indiana won against Purdue.

Purdue is having a highly successful season, with a 22-1 record that is the best start in program history. Additionally, the team has a strong record against ranked opponents, having won 4 straight games dating back to last season.

With another win on Saturday, Purdue would match its longest streak of wins against AP-ranked opponents over the last 30 seasons.

Players To Watch For

Zach Edey is highly favored by Caesars Sportsbook to win the Wooden Award, with odds of -1200. Trayce Jackson-Davis from Indiana also has relatively high odds to win the award, with the third-shortest odds.

Purdue's success with post-up plays, finishing 20.2% of its plays in this way, the highest of any team this season. Zach Edey is a significant contributor to this success, scoring 12.2 points per game on post-ups, the most in Division I. Most of Edey's post touches come on the left block.

Trayce Jackson-Davis in the month of January has been outstanding.  He averaged 23.0 points per game and 14.6 rebounds per game, making him the first player from Indiana to average 20 points and 10 rebounds in a month over the last 25 seasons.

Conclusion and Pete's Prediction

Indiana's success against top-ranked opponents, with 7 wins against AP No. 1 teams, which is the second-most among Big Ten teams all-time. Ohio State has the most wins with 10. Indiana's last win against an AP No. 1 opponent at home was on February 2, 2013, against No. 1 Michigan.

The bottom line is if Indiana wins this game, and I think they have a shot, Craig Shemon will be absolutely insufferable on the Shemon and Sheppard Show all of next week.  I fear that should the Hoosiers win, it will supersede us discussing Super Bowl 57.

Indiana Purdue in Bloomington: My prediction is Purdue 70 Indiana 66

Wings: Wings are a staple at any Super Bowl party. You can opt for classic Buffalo wings, or get creative with different flavors like BBQ, honey mustard, or teriyaki.
Pizza: Pizza is another crowd-pleaser that's perfect for a Super Bowl party. And, you can order in from a local pizzeria or make your own using store-bought or homemade dough and your favorite toppings.
Chips and dips: Chips and dips are an easy and always-popular snack. Offer a variety of dips, such as guacamole, salsa, and queso, along with an assortment of chips for dipping.
Sliders: Sliders are bite-sized burgers that are perfect for snacking and easy to make in bulk. Try classic cheeseburgers or switch things up with pulled pork or grilled chicken sliders.

2. SLIDERS

Mini Burgers make you feel like you're eating fewer calories...because they are small.

3. NACHOS

The meatier and cheesier the better. The key here is to have a quality chip strong enough to handle the weight.

Can't go wrong popping a half dozen of these babies for a warm up.

5. PIZZA

Pizza is King in any situation.

6. FRENCH FRIES

Good side staple but don't fill up too much with these.

7. TACOS

Taco Tuesday or Super Sunday... Tacos are the best.

This is my go-to with a beer at stadiums. Why not enjoy at home in front of the TV?

9. JALAPENO POPPERS

I'm liking spicy foods more as I age. Strange huh?

10. DEVILED EGGS

More of a holiday side food.

11. ONION RINGS

I'm not a big onion ring guy but I see why so many like them.

12. SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP

Speaking of dips...this one's just a bit hotter.

14. QUESADILLAS

I could eat a good quesadilla any day of the year.

15. GUACAMOLE

A perfect topping to any chip!

16. SALSA

Also, a perfect topping to any chip. Mild, Medium, or Hot?

17. SUB

Stack the cold cuts and cheeses!

18. FRENCH ONION DIP

Some dips are great on tortilla chips. But French Onion Dip MUST go with a Ruffles potato chip.

27. BRUSCHETTA

It's just small toast.

28. SPRING ROLLS

It makes the list just to add variety.

29. MEATBALLS

Hearty and solid. Good solo or in a sub sandwich.

30. SUSHI

Fancy. If you are gong to eat sushi at a party, get to it early. You don't want to eat sushi that's been out all day.
