Covid messed up Fantasy Fest for the last few years and if you were hoping that everything would go back to way it used to be, it is not. According to Keysweekly, officials are meeting today to discuss the Fantasy Fest agreement. It looks like there will be a Masquerade March  Friday evening, and the parade will take place on Saturday night. There will likely not be a street fair. The Duval Street business owners feel that if people are at the street fair, that's less time spent in their stores. There was a meeting last December which proposed "No nudity, no Fantasy Zone, fines for inappropriate body-painting and designated “family hours” during which inappropriate costumes are prohibited."

It will likely come down to enforcement outside of the family hours as to just how much will be allowed as to the costumes (and lack of). As for exactly what kind of Fantasy Fest we can expect from Key West this fall, things should become clearer after tomorrow's meeting.

There are few things in the world I like more than a nice juicy burger and Reader's Digest just released their list of the Best Burger in Every State so of course I had to dig in and find the best in Florida.

To compile their list of the best burgers from coast to coast, they looked at places most loved and reviewed by patrons and also burger joints that have been given awards by critics or at competitions.

In Florida, if you're looking for a taste of the Best Burger according to Reader's Digest, then a trip to either Boca Raton or Islamorada will be necessary to M.E.A.T. Eatery & Tap Room. With every burger, they brand “meat” into the bun and their specialty is a single or double Nancy Pants with Cheese—a five-ounce Angus burger, American cheese, lettuce and tomato.

Not only is M.E.A.T. being featured on this list, but they've also been on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. In addition to burgers, they're known for their smoked wings and homemade pork rinds. M.E.A.T. also carries craft beers, microbrewed sodas, organic wines and fresh made ice cream.
