Tiger Woods Involved In Car Crash, Extracted With ‘Jaws Of Life’
Gossip site TMZ is reporting that Tiger Woods has been involved in a serious car accident in Los Angeles. There is no word on what caused the accident, but he was extracted from the car by firefighters and paramedics with the "jaws of life." Woods is currently at a local hospital getting treatment for his injuries.
"Jaws of Life" are used when a car is upside down and a driver or passenger is pinned inside.
The LA County Sheriffs official Twitter account tweeted a statement, saying, "On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 AM, LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Ranchos Palos Verdes. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage. The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick 'Tiger' Woods. Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the 'jaws of life' by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries. The traffic investigation is being conducted by investigators from LASD Lomita Station."
Woods was in town for the Genesis Invitational golf tournament in the Pacific Palisades.
TMZ reports that Mark Steinberg, Tiger's agent, says Woods sustained multiple leg injuries and is currently in surgery. They also report that Law enforcement sources say Woods was alert enough at the scene of the accident to ask first responders to have his manager pick up his belongings and that police have not found anything illicit inside the vehicle.
