Woof: Amazon Echo Can Scare Away Strangers By Barking Like A Dog

Amazon Echo

The Amazon Echo now has a feature that can help protect your home from potential intruders, according to CNBC.

The feature is part of Alexa Guard Plus and allows your device to make it sound like a dog is barking inside your home if security cameras detect movement when you're not there.

The subscription service costs $4.99 per month or $49 per year after a 30-day free trial. If you don’t want to pay, there’s also a free tier of Alexa Guard that’s pretty useful.

Alexa Guard Plus can also alert you to any sounds in your home using your Amazon Echo and sound a siren if an activity is detected inside. You can also say “Alexa, call for help” to speak with trained agents who can request the dispatch of emergency responders.
