Legendary Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz will be honored this week with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The 83-year-old Holtz will visit the White House on Thursday and be decorated with the nation's highest civilian honor.

Holtz spent 11 years at Notre Dame, including a 12-0 1988 season that ended with the Irish ranked No. 1.  In November, he revealed that he had contracted COVID-19.
