Flash Flood Warning for Northwestern Collier County

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Northwestern Collier County in southwestern Florida...

* until 1145 am EDT

* at 745 am EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of
rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly. Some roadways are now impassable and water is entering
vehicles, leaving some vehicle stranded on the roadway. Additional
rainfall may cause some water to enter structures in localized
areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Naples, Golden Gate estates, Naples Park, Naples Manor and East
Naples.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
