THE BEATLES “LET IT BE” WAS RELEASED 53 YEARS AGO

Beatles "Let it Be"

It’s a pop song, and to some, it could also be a prayer. A beautiful tribute from a son to his late mother, it was the last song released by the Beatles before Paul McCartney left the band. Like many Beatles songs, it topped the Billboard Hot 100. As far as exits, what a way to go.

This will make you feel old. The Beatles "Let it Be" album was released 53 years ago today. For you youngsters out there, the Beatles led the British Invasion of musical acts from across the pond. Groups like the Beatles heavily influenced the musical landscape of the U.S. American's couldn't get enough of their unique sound and nobody was bigger the Paul, John, George and Ringo. The Beatles sold millions of records and sold out thousands of concerts in front of screaming fans.

The "Let it Be" album was marred by production difficulties as it was released at a time when the fab-four was in the process of breaking up and going their separate ways.
